I’ll be very honest, before meeting this family and little Zoe I did not know much about Autism. When I was introduced to this situation I couldn’t resist wanting to bless them. The other baby in the pictures is her little sister, Makenzie, who was born last December. Zoe has a few other conditions besides Autism and I would encourage you to follow and learn more about her situation. Her mom updates this page frequently and can give many enlightening reflections into the struggles and triumphs they face daily. A future for Zoe

I was truly hoping to get out more and photograph this month, but to make sure I keep with the weekly posts I needed to shoot from my house again this week. As time becomes more available I’m sure the photos will have more interesting subject matter… anyways… This is a picture of my guitar that I wish I could play, but I have tiny hands.
I honestly thought about not posting anything for this week. I found it difficult to find the time to shoot what I wanted, and the day I had free, it rained. I shot inside the house yesterday and played with the software and hated them all! This morning I walked around the yard and finally found some images I liked decently.
This may sound silly, but even after earning a Master’s degree in photography, I learned a new function of my camera that helped me with this week’s “assignment”. I learned how to use the auto bracketing timer to help prevent the camera shake during the multiple exposures. I’ve also learned more of the HDR software and feel I have more control over the final result!
On a side note, I’m excited for next month’s focus! 🙂 I just ordered some gear for it, and I think you all will love the final results!
In an effort to learn and grow in my photography I have decided to take this year with a 52-week photo project. Each month I will focus on one aspect of photography that I wish to improve on and post weekly photos.
For the month of January I am focusing on HDR. Last weekend my husband and I took a drive to the mountains for inspiration. While playing with the process, I have learned I have much to learn still! As I shoot more I hope to improve my skills this month! Here are some photos for my first week!
p.s. It was really cold in north Georgia and North Carolina where these are taken, and I totally got sick running around and taking my time with my camera! 🙂 All worth it!
